Der vorliegende Beitrag geht auf die Bedeutung der orthodoxen akademischen Theologie und deren Spezifika in Deutschland ein. Zuerst wird kurz in die Situation der orthodoxen Kirchen hierzulande eingeführt. Im Anschluss werden Bedarfe an orthodoxer Theologie in universitären Kontexten mit besonderer Berücksichtigung der Ausbildung der Religionslehrkräfte thematisiert sowie der momentane Stand und aktuelle Herausforderungen benannt. Abschließend werden Perspektiven für die Etablierung der orthodoxen Theologie an der Universität, sowohl im Kontext der Gesamtentwicklung der Orthodoxie in Deutschland als auch exemplarisch für den Religionsunterricht, aufgezeigt.

The present article deals with the importance of Orthodox academic theology and its specifics in Germany. First, the situation of the Orthodox Churches in this country is briefly introduced. Afterwards, the needs of Orthodox theology in university contexts with special consideration of the training of religious teachers are discussed and the current status and current challenges are named. Ultimately, perspectives for the establishment of Orthodox theology at the university are shown, both in the context of the overall development of Orthodoxy in Germany and exemplarily related to Religious Education.
